The Gunjan Saxena film is based on true events, a girl who fought bravely against the odds and became the first woman fighter pilot in the 1999 Kargil War. The film briefly tells us her story of how she got closer and closer to her dreams with the support and strength of her father, while there were others who were pulling her down.
Storyline of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl Movie
The film begins in Lucknow in 1984 where young Gunjan is seen fighting with her brother Anshuman to be allowed to look through the window of an aeroplane. A kind air hostess sees this and takes Gunjan to the cockpit where she finds herself awkward and excited to become a pilot when she grows up.
Few years later, Gunjan is congratulated by her parents for being so good in academics and they plan to send her to a good high school. But Gunjan wants to become a pilot, her father fully supports her as she is very enthusiastic about it. Now for the same, Gunjan makes several attempts but comes back home disappointed due to the high cost and her educational qualification.
Then she sees an advertisement for entry into the Indian Air Force and she finds the right place for herself. Anshuman who himself is serving in the army tells her that the air force is not the right place for a woman. While preparing for her tests, she learns that she is 1 centimeter too tall and seven kilograms overweight for the same, she is again devastated but decides to take the test again. Now it has to be seen how she became an Air Force fighter after all this.
