Kalyanam Kamaneeyam Movie Review

Kalyanam Kamaniyum from the well-known production house UV Creations starring Santosh Shobhan and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead pair had its theatrical release today. Let’s see how it holds up.

Story: The film revolves around the love and marriage story of a young couple. Being an easy-going guy, Shiva (Santosh Shobhan) is in love with Shruti (Priya Bhavani Shankar), an IT employee. Eventually, they take the relationship to the next level and get married. In one case marital life starts getting sour. What is the matter? What does Shiva have to do with this? How things stabilize going forward is the main issue.

Performance: Santosh Shobhan and Priya Bhavani Shankar look great as a pair. Both did decently well in the lead roles.

The chemistry between the lead pair is one of the major assets of the film. Renowned actors like Devi Prasad, Pavitra Naresh, Kedar Shankar, and Roopa Lakshmi are fine in the roles of the parents. Satyam Rajesh and Saptagiri bring good fun to the parts. Other padding actors are fine in their limited roles.

Cast & Crew:

Santosh Sobhan (Hero)
Priya Bhavani Shankar (Heroine)
Devi Prasad, Pavitra Lokesh , Kedar Shankar ,Satyam Rajesh, Saptagiri (Cast)
Anil kumar Aalla (Director)
UV Concepts (Producer)
Sravan Bharadwaj (Music)
Karthik Gattamneni (Cinematography)

Technicalities: Sravan Bharadwaj’s music is good to an extent. While his songs are situational and passable on screen, the background score suits the genre of the film.

The photography work by Karthik Ghattamaneni is good as he captures the entire film on a colorful note. Satya G’s editing is adequate. The production value of this limited budget film is good.

Analysis: Director Anil Kumar Alla’s idea is half-baked and doesn’t have a proper screenplay. Besides this, the entire film moves on a dull note without any feel-good moments.

Except for the chemistry between Santosh Shobhan and Priya Bhavani Shankar, there is nothing special to keep in the film here. In short, Kalyanam Kamaniyam is a film that has the feel of a short film. Thin proceedings and lack of emotional connect are major issues.

Verdict: Boring!
