Veteran actor Arun Bali dies at 79 in Mumbai

Veteran actor Arun Bali, who plays the swaggering Kunwar Singh, has reportedly died at the age of 79. Leader of news agency ANI, Mumbai power actor. His last film Goodbye was released in theaters on October 7.

Following the news of his death, fans paid tribute to the late actor on Twitter. One person wrote, “God bless his soul.
He was so good in every role.” Another tweeted, “He was such a natural actor. RIP.” A fan added, “Saw him fighting for life and surviving relays, but he bid us farewell on the day of release.”

Arun Bali was last seen in the film ‘Goodbye’ which released on Friday. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, Neena Gupta, Sunil Grover, Pavel Gulati, Ashish Vidyarthi, Eli Avraram, Sahil Mehta, Shivin Narang and Abhishek Khan. The film revolves around the death of a family member.

Earlier this year, Arun was diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular disease and was hospitalized. Nupur Alankar, a member of CINTAA, then told eTimes, “I was on the phone with Arun Bali sir when I felt there was something wrong in his speech and pointed him out. After that I tried to contact his son Ankush, but could not. Then I called Rajeev Menon who is Ankush’s colleague and got his other number and I advised him to take Arun sir to the hospital immediately.”

Arun Bali’s daughter Nupur said that she has been diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. Nupur said, “Today I got a call from Arunji’s number… He could not clarify anything. His daughter Itishree told me about his condition. I am really worried. I am praying for his speedy recovery.”

Arun acted in several films and television series including the 1991 drama Chanakya in which he played the role of King Poras. He played the role of Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy, the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal in the film Hey Ram (2000). He is known for his role as Harshvardhan Wadhwa in Kumkum. He is known for his roles in 3 Idiots, Kedarnath and Panipat.
