Ahead of the market launch, the car maker has revealed all the information regarding its features, engine specifications and mileage. Powering the new 5-Door Maruti Jimny is a 1.5-litre K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine. Which is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter gearbox. Engine and Mileage:
This engine produces 105bhp of peak power at 6,000rpm and 134.2Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm with idle start/stop. With manual and automatic transmission, the petrol engine can deliver a mileage of 16.94 kmpl and 16.39 kmpl respectively. Maruti Jimny has a manual transfer case. That works on the AllGrip Pro AWD. There is also a low-range gearbox with three modes. 2WD-High, 4WD-High and 4WD-Low. On the other hand, the automatic variant is claimed to consume 16.39 kmpl of petrol. And it has 40 liter fuel tank. The automatic variant gets a range of 678 km and 656 km.
The Jimny model lineup comes in two trims, the Jetta and the Alfa. The Alpha trim has some special features. Like 9-inch touchscreen SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, Arcamis sound system, automatic weather control, cruise control, keyless start, LED headlamps, fog lamps, auto headlamps, alloy wheels, etc. Jimny features 6 airbags, electronic stability program, brake limited slip differential, seatbelt pretensioner, reversing camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorage.
